The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) has confirmed that it has taken possession of samples of blood and plasma bags collected during "Operation Puerto" to continue a joint investigation alongside the International Cycling Union (UCI).

Real Madrid's €18.4m state aid payment would be welcomed by local authority - ESPN FC
Madrid's City Hall says it would welcome Real Madrid paying the €18.4 million which the European Commission has ordered is owed due to illegal state aid to the club. The European Commission has instructed Real to reimburse the local city authority with the fee after ruling that the club had benefitted from a public subsidy in the form of cheap land by their Santiago Bernabeu stadium.

Coentrao out until November? | Football Espana
Fabio Coentrao’s Real Madrid return may be pushed back until November due to a hamstring tear, reports AS. Coentrao made just 19 appearances for Monaco last season and was unable to represent Portugal at Euro 2016 after he tore his muscle during a training session in April.

Newcastle United have announced the signing of defender Jesus Gamez from Atletico Madrid on a two-year contract. Games arrives for an undisclosed fee from Atleti, where he made 18 appearances across two seasons, and becomes Rafa Benitez’s fourth summer signing at St James’ Park as the Magpies prepare for a season in England’s second tier.

Villarreal sign Senegal midfielder Alfred N'Diaye from Real Betis - ESPN FC
Villarreal have signed Senegal international Alfred N'Diaye from Real Betis in a deal reported to be worth around €7.5 million. N'Diaye, who has signed a five-year deal at El Madrigal, will cost a further €500,000 if Villarreal qualify for the Europa League in either of the next two seasons and an extra €1m of they reach the Champions League, AS reported.

Malaga have secured the services of promising defender Diego Llorente from Real Madrid on a one-year loan deal. The Rosaleda outfit were keen to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2016-17 campaign and have now found their man in Llorente.
