FC Barcelona News: 23 July 2016; Barça agree deal for Luciano Vietto transfer, Ivan Rakitic set to stay

The FC Barcelona first team has continued with its first week back at training, albeit without the internationals, who are still away on their respective vacations. But those members of the squad that are available were all in attendance on Saturday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva for a nother session on the Tito Vilanova field.
Luis Suárez strode confidently into the press room at the Ciutat Esportiva precisely at 11.30am CET on Friday morning. He sat down behind the microphone, crossed his arms on top of the table, and, with his deep, dark summer tan perfectly accenting his sparkling brown eyes, he gazed out into the press corps that had assembled to hear him offer his first words about the looming season.
The 22-year-old Portuguese midfielder André Gomes, who will be making the move to FC Barcelona following a late-night deal with Valencia CF on Thursday, will become the seventh player from Spain's western neighbour to play for the Catalan club.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are said to have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Luciano Vietto. Mundo Deportivo reports only minor details need to be settled on the €22m deal and those are with Vietto himself, the clubs coming to an entente over the Argentina international.
Ivan Rakitic is expected to stay at Barcelona and has the support of Luis Enrique for a new contract promised by President Josep Maria Bartomeu. Barca’s surprise signing of Valencia’s Andre Gomes, and a tweet from an agent who had represented Rakitic in the past which suggested it was time for the Croatian to leave Camp Nou, led to speculation over the 28-year-old’s future.
