The club are keen to secure the goalkeeper’s future
Barcelona and goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s discussions have advanced regarding a new contract. According to a report from Sport, Barcelona is happy with the performance and growth from the German keeper enough to give him a contract.
Side note, the fact his performance even has to be mentioned is pretty amusing to me.
The report says that Barcelona offered Ter Stegen a contract extension till 2024. An Italian report says Barcelona have offered the German a deal worth 6.3 million euros plus bonuses per year. It’ll likely be a bit of time before anything substantial takes place between Ter Stegen and Barcelona. However, for Barcelona it’s good to know they’re starting these discussions before any hint of dissatisfaction takes place from the goalkeeper’s camp.
