Could an extended window be on the cards?
According to reports, FIFA is planning on having a longer than normal transfer window. The move would be pretty unprecedented and take some significant planning.
Due to Covid-19 altering everyone and everything’s plans, the transfer window was in question. The change in the global economy will impact different clubs and leagues individually. Because of that, FIFA are just thinking they should make the transfer window from July till January.
This would give clubs a chance to make things happen on their own economical timeline. The prices for players will likely change dramatically and how contracts are structured will have to be re-evaluated. So an extended transfer window will help to alleviate some of the problems that are likely ahead of eve ry club.
