Sunday brings plenty of hot gossip

Antoine Griezmann and Aymeric Laporte are both making headline news in Spain as the rumor mill continues to churn out rumors while football is suspended.

Over at Sport the word is that Barcelona have put Antoine Griezmann up for sale and would be willing to sell the French striker for €100 million.

The club are keen to improve the squad next season but without spending too much, meaning selling Griezmann for a big sum would allow them to reinvest.

Although the Frenchman has scored 14 goals this season he’s still not considered to be essential or a decisive player.

Clubs such as Manchester United, PSG, Chelsea and Arsenal are mentioned, although it’s not clear if any of them are seriously interested.

Over at Mundo Deportivo there is a report that Barcelona could look to bring in Aymeric Laporte to strengthen their defence for next season.

Manchester City are currently banned from the Champions League for the next two seasons which is giving Barca hope they could tempt the centre-back away from the Etihad.

Barca have been keen on Laporte before but could reignite their interest as he is seen as a player who fits in with Quique Setien’s style of football well.

Laporte has been crucial to City since signing from Athletic in January 2018 and signed a contract extension last year that runs until 2025.
