Levante vs Barcelona, 2015/16 La Liga: Final Score 0-2 as lazy Barça get boring victory

Barcelona have now won ten matches in a row in all competitions, five in La Liga, thanks to a 0-2 victory away from home against Levante, with goals from Navarro (own goal) and Luis Suárez. The València side made good signings in January and played better than their record showed, but in the end weren't good enough to stop even a subpar performance by the league leaders.

FIRST HALF

From the start, the Blaugrana showed desire to put the game to bed early. With quickness in movement and sharp passing, the visitors quickly broke down Levante's defense and got a beautiful goal. Andrés Iniesta played a phenomenal through ball to Messi, clearly onside, who put the ball in the back of the net. But the linesman somehow saw an offside position and disallowed the goal.

With the lucky break, Levante got excited and started growing confidence, using their new signing Giuseppe Rossi to create chances. But they left spaces at the back, and Jordi Alba capitalized on, making a great overlapping run and playing a dangerous cross that deflected off defender Navarro for the opening goal. Nothing wrong with this one.

The hosts were not scared with the goal, and went forward in search of an equalizer, getting very close with a shot by Morales that hit the post and a dangerous free-kick by Verza. But in the end, they couldn't find the goal, and Barça went into halftime with the advantage and the need of improvement to secure the three points.

SECOND HALF

The final 45 minutes were really boring. None of the two teams had true intensity and seemed content with the scoreline. Barça, especially, were very poor. The passing was slow and uninspired, the 'MSN' trio didn't have any creativity to break down the opposing defense, and the Catalans looked like wanting to go home as soon as possible.

But they still got a goal. In a fast counter-attack, Messi fed Suárez in the box, and the Uruguayan did not disappoint with a nice shot to end the game. The final whistle came, and Barça's laziness didn't cost them. This time.
