Las Palmas vs Barcelona, 2015/16 La Liga: Final Score 1-2 as Barça win tough road game

Barcelona have won again and remain unbeaten for a ridiculous 32 matches after a 2-1 away victory against Las Palmas, thanks to goals from Luis Suárez and Neymar Jr, with William José scoring for the hosts. In a difficult afternoon against a tough opponent who plays well at home, the Blaugrana didn't have a great performance, but individual brilliance ultimately prevailed in another key win to comfortably stay at the top of La Liga.

FIRST HALF

What promised to be a tough outing for the league leaders started just like that. The hosts went forward to pressure the ball high up the pitch, troubled the Blaugranes' buildup play, and looked dangerous on the ball. But they left gaps at the back, and the Catalans took advantage. A beautiful through ball from Iniesta found Jordi Alba, and his cross gave Suárez a perfect chance that El Pistolero didn't miss.

Las Palmas didn't seem affected by the goal, however, and went straight forward. A nice backheel pass by Jonathan Viera fell to an onside William José, who caught the entire Barça defense sleeping and smartly finished to score the equalizer just under ten minutes of action.

Needing a second goal, the Blaugrana seemed a little desperate and nervous, and wasted plenty of possessions with misplaced passes, unnecessary fouls and overall bad play. But The Uruguayan came to the rescue. Suárez found a space on the right side, fought hard to win the ball against the Las Palmas defenders, entered the box and assisted Messi, who missed the shot thanks to a great save by the keeper, but Neymar was ready for the rebound and scored the second.

At halftime, a subpar Blaugrana needed a better second half to secure the three points.

SECOND HALF

They didn't exactly improve, but the visitors were in better control of the action. The team had more of the ball, erased the passing issues and avoided counter-attacking chances for Las Palmas. Goal-scoring opportunities did not come in volume or danger, and Luis Enrique's men were clearly preserving their fitness and just waiting for the final whistle to come.

The last ten minutes were intense. The Yellows went forward looking to tie the game, and came incredibly close in a few opportunities. But the Blaugrana survived at the end, escaped the Canary Islands with a victory, and now have a trip to London for their third match in just six days. What a crazy week.
