The Real Madrid superstar left a grinning Zinedine Zidane to finish the media duties on his own after becoming irritated by questions over his relationship with Gareth Bale and his recent goalscoring record away from home. Real take on Roma in the first leg of their last-16 tie at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday, and Ronaldo was the player chosen to attend the press conference along with his manager.

"Is that what you read or what they say? I’m going to tell you something. I won the Champions League with Manchester United and I didn’t speak with [Paul] Scholes, [Ryan] Giggs and [Rio] Ferdinand beyond a ‘hello,’" began his pointed reply, AS reports.

Cristiano Ronaldo said that if the form he has displayed in recent Real Madrid games is ‘poor,’ he hopes it continues for the rest of the season. It was put to the Portuguese during a Press conference appearance to preview the Champions League game against Roma that he hasn’t been at his best this season.

Cristiano Ronaldo expects Real Madrid to beat Roma in the Champions League and told Luciano Spalletti ‘it’s good to dream’ of the opposite happening. Ronaldo appeared before the Press to preview the tie and at first agreed with the Italians’ Coach that the game was in the balance before the first leg, then added tongue-in-cheek that Spalletti was ‘dreaming’ to think Roma might win.

Two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo helped Real to a 4-2 win at home to Athletic Bilbao on Saturday, a victory which moved them to within four points of leaders Barcelona. Sofiane Feghouli could be on his way out of Valencia as his contract renewal talks aren’t progressing. AS reports that while Feghouli has hinted he wants to stay at Mestalla, and the club are keen to keep him as well, there’s a gap over his wages that is proving hard to close.
