It is common knowledge that Barcelona are riding a historic 33-game unbeaten streak. We have heard it so many times already that it's impossible to forget. What we might have forgotten is that, back in October of last year, it was Sevilla who last beat Barça.
The Rojiblancos used their home advantage to the full, beating the Blaugrana 2-1 with a complete performance, proving that they have what it takes to defeat the world's best team. There is a few things that might make this Sunday's game a little different, however: the match is at Camp Nou, a place where Barcelona is yet to lose this season; Lionel Messi had just injured his knee and Barça were playing their first full game without the Argentine superstar, still trying to figure out how to win with the best player in the world on the sidelines.
Now Messi is back, regaining his planet-beating form and ready to play well again. Sevilla is Messi's favorite opponent, the team Leo has scored the most goals against in his career. Neymar Jr. and Luis Suárez will also be there, and that October team is not even close to what this one has become. The marathon of matches is over for Barça, who had five days of rest before Sunday's fixture.
So yes, Barça are heavy favorites, as they should be. But Sevilla have proven they can win against the Blaugranes. They were the last one to do it. Will they be the next? Do not miss it so you can find out.
