Football is a marathon, not a sprint. For Barcelona, the beginning of 2016 has been the embodiment of this famous sentence. After nine matches in January, the Blaugrana will endure another insane sequence of eight fixtures in just 26 days this month. Even Jürgen Klopp at Liverpool thinks that's a lot.
February has some key games: the extra La Liga clash against Sporting Gijón that could pretty much clinch the league title, the start of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Premier League rivals Arsenal, and plenty more. To kick things off, the Catalan giants host Valencia at Camp Nou in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
While new Valencia manager Gary Neville has not had the best start in his coaching career, he is still in a charge of a pretty good side. The Bats are full of young, high-ceiling players along with experienced men who know what it is to play against Barça. The last encounter between these two teams, a league match at Mestalla a couple of months ago, was an example of what the Valencianistes can do: they fought hard and held the Blaugrana to a 1-1 draw.
But for coach Luis Enrique and his men, these are different times: Barça carry a historic 26-game unbeaten streak, have a fully healthy squad for the first time all season, and have the 'MSN' trio on fire ready to make more history with a second straight Copa del Rey final.
