The legend has bigged up the coach before el Clásico
"I really like Ernesto Valverde,” Xavi said in an interview on Catalanuya Ràdio. “We have returned to the essence of Barça. His arrival has revitalized Barça’s DNA."
The legendary midfielder was full of praise for Barcelona’s coach, who will be prepping his team for a huge Clásico against Real Madrid this weekend.
"You notice it in the players," he said.
Xavi also commented on Real Madrid’s poor start to the season, saying "when you have won so much, if you don't pay attention, you can lower your level.”
But he urged Valverde caution, saying “perhaps Madrid's winning desire has gone down a it, but Madrid are always competitive.” He continued: “Madrid is made up of a winning DNA and this Saturday they have a golden opportunity.”
