Report: Barcelona reach verbal agreement with Bundesliga star

It looks like the dream signing is close to coming true.

According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona has reached an initial verbal agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the signing of star midfielder Ilkay Gundogan. Since it's illegal to agree pre-contracts and/or transfers outside of transfer windows, the two clubs have denied the rumors, says the report.

However, as suggested by MD's sources, the German player has decided to make a move to Catalonia once the January window is opened, and the 24-year-old is allegedly joining former Atlético Madrid star Arda Turan and Sevilla wingback Aleix Vidal as the three new Blaugrana signings for this season once the transfer ban is over and the Catalans are able to register their purchases.

Gundogan has been a dream target for almost every Culé due to his very Barça-esque style of play, with fantastic vision and passing skills. He's also very good as a set piece taker, and has enough pace to take part in counter-attacks, which has become a vital part of coach Luis Enrique's scheme since his arrival.

Now, to the money stuff: Barça is very close to working out a €30 million fee, which is below Dortmund's asking price. The Treble-winners can also add a few performance bonuses that could increase the total investement to around €38 million. That's certainly not an absurd amount of money for such a talented player who can fit perfectly in no time.

Please, MD, don't let us down. We need this to happen.
