Report: Barcelona plan offer for Milan defender in 2016

A good backup to Danilo if that doesn't work

With the likely departure of Dani Alves, Barcelona are already planning on a reliable replacement at his position once the transfer ban is all over.

We've been reporting over the last few days that the Blaugrana have advanced their negotiation talks with FC Porto to sign talented Brazilian right-back Danilo in 2016. But according to Diario Sport, Real Madrid also have set their eyes in the 23-year-old and they have the advantage of not being banned from performing transfers. Just in case that the Blancos get in Barça's way, they have a backup plan.

And it's a good one. Sources say that Barça are planning to reach out to AC Milan and express their interest in 22-year-old Mattia De Sciglio, one of the most promising defenders in the world. Despite his undeniable talent, the Italy international has been pretty much under the radar, with no powerhouses from Europe calling Milan like crazy to make giant offers.

Some reports suggest that the price tag for De Sciglio could be around €20 million, a smaller amount than what's asked by Porto for Danilo.

What do you think, Blaugranes? Is De Sciglio a good backup plan if Barça aren't able to land Danilo?
