Gerard Piqué: 'Luis Enrique is the boss'

When a loss to Real Sociedad triggered an unprecedented crisis at Barcelona, many pointed out to the fact that Luis Enrique and Lionel Messi did not like each other, and their relationship was doomed to destroy the locker room. One month and ten straight wins later, nobody thinks about that anymore, and the "Messi dictator" narrative is dead, at least for now.

And according to a locker room leader, Messi is definitely not the ruler of the team.

Gerard Piqué, who's personally enjoying a great recent form, said in a radio interview that the locker room is fine, and Messi and Luis Enrique do have a good relationship, even though they had some differences earlier in the season.

"There is no dressing room without arguments. Luis Enrique and Messi had an argument, but it is all over now, and there is no need to go back over it. The relationship with Luis Enrique has always been good and friendly.

"Luis Enrique is in charge more than Messi, of course. He is the coach, the boss, although Leo carries a lot of weight in the dressing room."

Piqué is totally right. We can't sit here and pretend Messi doesn't have any influence in the locker room, because he does. Leo is the best player on the team, and he is respected by everybody. But unlike many people think, he's not a dictator. He respects the coach, even if they have problems at some point.

But hey, who cares about the locker room? We're winning, right?
