The most impressive team in the tournament looks for a place in the quarterfinals against David Alaba and Co.
It’s time for the Euro 2020 knockout stage! After a brilliant group stage with one great game after another across the continent, sixteen teams have qualified for this first round of win or go home matches.
Wembley Stadium is the site of the second Round of 16 game of the day as Italy and Austria face off in London. The Italians were the best team of the group stage, with a dominant defense, a dynamic midfield and a clinical attack resulting in three excellent wins in front of the home crowd in Rome, with 7 goals scored and zero conceded.
But it won’t be easy for Italy as they have to face David Alaba and Austria, who won two of their group stage matches and looked solid throughout the first two weeks of the tournament. Alaba has been good as usual, and their three-at-the-back system with wingbacks has been tricky for all their opponents so far.
Austria definitely have what it takes to cause the upset, but Italy are big favorites to advance — and set up a sensational quarterfinal against Belgium or Portugal.
