Join us for Day 13 of the European Championships!
Welcome to Day 13 of the European Championships! The Euro 2020 group stage comes to an end today, and we will find out the eight Round of 16 matchups after what promises to be a fantastic day of international football.
We begin with decision time in Group E, and our focus as Barcelona fans will be on Luis Enrique’s Spain who need a win against Slovakia to qualify, though they can also qualify with a draw if Poland don’t beat Sweden in the other game. Sweden are already qualified, but all the other three teams can either qualify or finish last in the group, so madness awaits.
Then it’s all about the Group of Death, with the much-anticipated rematch of the Euro 2016 Final taking place in Budapest between France and Portugal. Antoine Griezmann and Les Bleus are already through and will win the group with a victory, and Portugal could be eliminated at the group stage if they lose and Hungary beat Germany. If they avoid defeat, though, they are through in third place.
Germany need only a point at home to go through, and Hungary need a win to qualify. All four teams are still alive in Group F, and madness also awaits there.
What a fun day ahead of us. The group stage ends today, and we could even see some shocking exits. Let’s go!
