The club are ready to do some deals

Barcelona have reportedly made extending Ousmane Dembele’s contract a priority and plan to talk to the Frenchman in the coming weeks about a new deal.

The election of Joan Laporta as the club’s new president means Barca can finally get to work on renewing some of their players ahead of the summer transfer window.

Dembele’s current deal expires at the end of next season, meaning Barca will want him all signed up before he heads into the final year of his contract

COPE report that Dembele’s renewal is a priority for the club and they know that he’s happy at Barcelona, is taking care of himself well and is looking “like a new player.”

Dembele has managed to finally stay fit in 2020-21 and has gone on to make 35 appearances in all competitions, contributing nine goals and four assists.

The Frenchman is now a key member of Ronald Koeman’s starting XI after managing to shrug off the injury problems that have plagued him during his time at the Camp Nou.

Dembele reportedly came close to leaving Barcelona in the summer but ended up staying and looks to have turned his situation right around.
