The defender is out of contract in the summer
Oscar Mingueza has been talking about his future and says he hope he can stay at Barcelona past the end of this summer when his contract expires.
The 21-year-old has been one of the surprises of the season at the Camp Nou after being called up to the first team and has enjoyed regular football.
There have been no talks about his future yet, which is no surprise given the club has only just appointed a new president, and Mingueza isn’t too worried about his situation.
“Yes, my contract ends this summer,” he said.
“I’m very calm, nothing has been said, but I’m very calm. Let’s hope I can stay at Barcelona.”
Mingueza is also hoping that coach Ronald Koeman continues. The Dutchman does have another year to run on his contract and Mingueza says the team is improving.
“Should Koeman continue? You can see that the team has improved, the dynamic is very good,” he added.
“This team needed time. I hope he continues next year.”

Koeman is expected to discuss his future with Laporta over the international break, while there have been reports Barca will exercise an option in Mingueza’s contract to extend his deal until 2023.
