The Blaugrana's interest appears to be real
Barcelona's interest in Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos has been confirmed by the club's vice president Llorenç Serra Ferrer.
Barca have been rumored to be interested in signing the Spain Under-21 international, who had looked set for a move to Real Madrid.
There is more than just a whiff of controversy about the proposed move, due to Ceballos' anti-Catalan tweets and insults towards Gerard Pique.
However, despite that it seems Barcelona's interest in Ceballos, who has a €15 million release clause, is real.
"They asked me my opinion about Ceballos and I gave them it. You can guess what it was," he said according to Sport.
Yet Serra Ferrer also claimed that the 20-year-old could remain with the club, despite interest from the Spanish giants.
He added: "We're proud of how he played with the under-21s and we hope he continues for many more years."
The vice-president, who was speaking at the unveiling of Cristian Tello, also admitted the player would sit down with Quique Setién in the coming days to discuss his future.
"Tomorrow or the day after, the manager will talk with Ceballos. Our project is based around him and players like Tello", he added.
So there we have it, whether you like it or not, it seems like there really is something in the Ceballos to Barca speculation - although of course that's still a long way from a move actually happening.
