Barcelona “Agree Personal Terms” with Nelson Semedo, Negotiate with Benfica Over Transfer

Robert Fernandez is understood to be in Portugal to try to reach a deal

Barcelona’s delegation is in Portugal to negotiate the transfer of right-back Nelson Semedo.

Technical secretary Robert Fernandez, along with Javier Bordas, an executive, and one of Barcelona’s top negotiators, Raul Sanllehi, are understood to all be working on the ground to get a deal done, according to the radio show Tu Diras on the station RAC1.

This information was repeated by Hector Antonio Ruiz of the TV channel Gol.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, the Catalans offered 30 million euro for Semedo. Benfica asked for 50 million, a figure Barcelona was not prepared to match. Now, the two sides are trying to work out a deal.

Barcelona’s latest offer seems to be set at 35 million euro, with 5 more in variables, according to Alex Rodriguez of the radio show El Prat Esports. Rodriguez reports the club has agreed personal terms with the player, as well. He also said Barcelona do not want to spend more than 40 million, and again, Benfica ask for 50.

Will this impasse be resolved soon? Or will Barcelona move on to another target... perhaps AS Monaco’s Djibril Sidibe? Let’s remember that negotiations reportedly broke down with Arsenal for Hector Bellerin as the Gunners’ price was deemed too steep.
