The gossip just keeps on coming...
Messi tells Barca not to sell Rakitic
The future of Ivan Rakitic has been the hot topic over the last few days, with reports claiming he could be used as part of the deal to bring Marco Verratti to Camp Nou.
But that certainly isn’t going to happen if Lionel Messi has anything to do with it, as he has been on the phone to his employers to see if the news is true, according to Don Balon.
The Argentine is desperate to keep hold of Rakitic, who is a close friend, and has been reassured he is not for sale.
Paulinho deal still on
The transfer window may have slammed shut in China, but don’t let that fool you, a deal for Paulinho is still very much on, report Mundo Deportivo.
Chinese clubs can still sell players until August 31 and managed to bring in Muriqui before the end of the window, which could help soften their stance towards Paulinho.
This also means that Guangzhou now have five foreigners in their squad, two more then regulations allow, do you see where they are going with this now?
Paulinho’s agent is currently in China where he is hoping to find a way to allow Paulinho to leave the Chinesee Super League club for Barca.
Valverde told Barca must sell Arda & Rafinha
Ernesto Valverde has been told that the club have to sell Arda Turan and Rafinha this summer, so say Don Balon.
The new coach is happy to sell Arda and will reluctantly agree to the departure of Rafinha, to free up funds to finance another push for Verratti.
Ajax & Napoli bid for Munir
Munir El Haddadi is a man in demand with both Ajax and Napoli having made offers for his services, according to Sport.
The Dutch side have offered €14m although Munir is not too keen and could prefer a move to Serie A side Napoli.
However, there’s also a third, option Zenit have offered Barca €12m, although the Blaugrana want €20m.
Herrera not leaving Man Utd
Barcelona’s reported interest in Ander Herrera always looked a bit dubious and the Manchester United man has confirmed he has absolutely no interest in moving to the Camp Nou.
“There’s no truth to Barcelona because I’m very happy at United. I also feel valued by United and I’m focused on them,” he said via Football Espana after the club’s pre-season win over LA Galaxy.
