The first week back after the summer holidays was always going to be an intense one for Ernesto Valverde’s squad. On Friday, 10 more of Barcelona's first team returned, including all of their international players, and on Saturday morning it was time to endure the first of a double training session.

Ernesto Valverde almost has full squad back with him. Ten more members of the first team were back on the training field on Friday evening after taking their medicals earlier on in the day. European Internationals Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba, Denis Suárez, Lucas Digne and Samuel Umtiti were all at the Ciutat Esportiva, as were the quartet who had attended the Rakuten presentation in Japan.
