The defender's exit has been confirmed
Barcelona have waved farewell to Jeremy Mathieu after confirming they have terminated the centre-back’s contract and he will now sign for Sporting.
The defender's exit has been on the cards for some time now and looked even more likely when he was given permission recently to go on trial with the Portuguese side.

Mathieu now appears to have done enough to impress with Sporting having also confirmed the news.
