The hunt for a right-back could be set to continue...
Barcelona have spent much of this season being linked with Hector Bellerin but his agent has now revealed that while he has received an offer for the Arsenal defender it did not come from the Blaugrana.
The club’s decision to allow Dani Alves to leave looks crazier by the day with the Brazilian once again in sublime form to fire Juventus into the Champions League final.
Alves’ performances this season have highlighted what a mistake it was to let him go and Barca are still yet to adequately replace him almost 12 months on.
Robert Fernandez has previously admitted the club’s interest in Bellerin but the defender’s agent says he has not heard from the club at all recently.
"Before he signed his renewal there were six or seven clubs interested in him, and that made him understand he was doing the right things,” Albert Botines told Goal.
"After he signed the renewal there were only two or three clubs who kept up their interest in Bellerin, and I have to say I only received one offer for him and it is not from Barcelona.
"I have read lots of things about this supposed interest from Barcelona but it has been a long time since the club last called me.
"You never know what is going to happen in the future in the football world and of course he signed a renewal with a view to stay at Arsenal for a long time.
"But you never know, maybe there’s a club who likes him and things change. I can’t guarantee anything about the future but the natural thing would be for him to stay because he has signed a renewal."
Bellerin has hit a poor run of form in the second half of the season and indeed has found himself on the bench following Arsenal’s switch to a back three.
While it’s doubtful this is the last we’ve heard about this one - could it possibly be that the club have lost interest in Bellerin?
