A quick look at today’s tastiest transfer tales
Valverde to announce Athletic departure
Ernesto Valverde will announce he is leaving Athletic Bilbao after the final round of Liga fixtures on Sunday, but that’s all he will say for now, report Sport.
The coach, who is widely expected to replace Luis Enrique, has apparently had doubts about the Camp Nou job and could still opt to take off if the offer fails to arrive.
Marcelino may not have quite taken over at Valencia just yet but he’s already making plans for next season and has one eye on bringing Denis Suarez to Mestalla.
Superdeporte claim Marcelino, who worked with Denis at Villarreal, is keen for a reunion and could move for the 23-year-old this summer.
Denis certainly seemed to thrive in a yellow shirt under Marcelino and given how he’s struggling for game time at Camp Nou, this is a rumour we’re unlikely to have heard the last of just yet.
Bellerin house-hunting in Barcelona
Hector Bellerin has been spotted in house-hunting in Barcelona which according to Diario Gol, can only mean one thing, he’s on the brink of a Camp Nou return.
The Arsenal defender has been one of the club’s priorities this summer and they could even announce his signing at the same time as Lionel Messi’s contract extension.
Marlon rejected Real Madrid
Marlon made his first team debut on Sunday and has found his name in the headlines ever since.
While his agent has claimed a permanent move to Camp Nou is close, Mundo Deportivo also claim he turned down the chance to sign for Real Madrid.
Los Blancos apparently tried to hijack his move to Barca last summer, even promising first team action.
However, Marlon stood firm and kept his word to join Luis Enrique’s side. Mark my words, thi boy is going to go far.
Juventus to offer €25m for Rafinha
Those pesky Rafinha to Juventus rumours have returned, despite his father playing down talk of a move away from the club this summer.
The Corriere dello Sport aren’t interested, however, and claim the Italian giants are willing to open the bidding for the Brazilian at €25m.
Rafinha could be tempted apparently, as he has concerns over making it into Brazil’s World Cup squad, although Juventus may need to up their offer to over €30m if they are to get their man.
