The Brazil coach feels he’d be perfect at Camp Nou
Those rumours linking Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona simply refuse to go away and Brazil coach Tite has now had his say on the matter, claiming the Liverpool man would be “ideal” for the Blaugrana.
Coutinho and Jurgen Klopp have both recently played down such speculation but Tite has told Sport that it is logical that Barcelona would want Coutinho to link up with compatriot Neymar.
“Yes. Absolutely yes,” he said. “I don't want to be pretentious and give an opinion on Barça, but who wouldn't want a player like Coutinho? That magic, that capacity to invent and create something, that change of rhythm, the way he builds play...
“They [Neymar & Coutinho] complement each other tactically. There was one goal [for Brazil against Paraguay] they were brilliant for, Neymar on the left, Coutinho coming in to the middle."
While Tite also conceded that Klopp “should fight” to keep hold of Coutinho he was also pressed to discuss how the Brazilian might fit in at Camp Nou.
He explained: “Just to be clear, I'm talking hypothetically... There's Sergio [Busquets] and two articulators, Rakitic and Iniesta, who are the thinkers of the team. Coutinho could play that role. He is the ideal player for Barça.”
Coutinho’s most recent comments have suggested he’s not interested in a move to Barcelona although that’s unlikely to stop the speculation.
Having said that one of the main points of contention over a possible move does appear to be where exactly he would fit into the Barcelona team.
