The Dutchman has impressed his new team-mate
Joao Cancelo hurled some huge praise in Frenkie de Jong’s direction after Barcelona’s 2-1 win over Porto in the Champions League.
De Jong has returned to action recently after an ankle injury, and Cancelo made it clear after the game how impressed he’s been by the Dutchman.
“I want to say something about Frenkie de Jong. He’s one of the best players I have ever seen in that position,” he said.
“When he plays he makes a tremendous difference and we’re happy to have him back.”

High praise indeed from Cancelo, particularly when you consider the players he has featured alongside during his career which has taken in spells with top clubs including Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
De Jong’s return to fitness has been a big boost to the Catalan giants, especially after losing Gavi to a season-ending knee injury while on Spain duty.
