Barcelona have taken another step closer to a return to action by training in two groups on Monday at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Lockdown restrictions are being eased in Spain and the team are now allowed to train in groups of 14 players.

The first group consisted of goalkeepers Marc-Andre ter Stegen and Neto with Piqué, Busquets, Suárez, Messi, Jordi Alba, Sergio Roberto, Vidal, Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig and Araujo.

The second group was made up of Inaki Pena, Semedo, Rakitic, Arthur, Lenglet, Griezmann, Braithwaite, De Jong, Junior, Collado and Monchu.

Barcelona B were also back in training for the first time, although they are working individually initially.

The next step will see the whole first-team squad being able to train together from June 1, as Barcelona step up preparations for the return of La Liga.

Barca’s next fixture is away at Real Mallorca, and it’s looking like the game could go ahead on the weekend of the 12th June.
