We needed a comeback at Leganés. LOL.
Barcelona will finish the weekend still in first place in La Liga thanks to a 2-1 comeback win over Leganés in Madrid on Saturday. The Blaugrana were once again outcoached and a had a horrible first half, but played well enough in the second to score the winning goals and pick up three points.
FIRST HALF
Youssef En-Nesyri scored an amazing goal to give Leganés the lead. Barça did absolutely nothing despite having Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann, Luis Suárez and Ousmane Dembélé all together on the pitch. Javier Aguirre had his team more organized than Ernesto Valverde.
That was the first half.
SECOND HALF
Barça looked more active to start the second half, with quicker passing and movement, and a Suárez header after a Messi free kick made it 1-1 early in the half and gave the team a chance to complete the comeback. Valverde was good for once and made positive substitutions and tactical changes, and the Blaugrana amped up the pressure looking for the winner.
It took a while, but with 10 minutes to go Arturo Vidal completed the comeback after a corner from Dembélé hit a Leganés player and fell to the Chilean who was all alone in front of goal. There was some confusion and a VAR review for offside, but the initial decision was upheld and Barça had the lead.
Leganés naturally sent everyone forward looking for the equalizer while Barça tried to kill the game on the counter, but no more goals were scored and the final whistle came to end another mediocre performance from a Barça team that does not encourage anyone ahead of a three-week period that will decide the entire season. Nervous times ahead.
