The youngster continues to impress in preseason
Yusuf Demir continues to impress. The youngster has only been training with the first team for just over two weeks since joining Barcelona on loan from Rapid Vienna, but he’s started all three preseason games and scored his first Barça goal in the 3-0 win against Stuttgart.
Demir was initially signed to play for Barça B, but he’s been so impressive that it wouldn’t be a shock to see him play with the seniors this season. And that is exactly what the Austrian is aiming for.
“I am very thankful for the opportunity that Barça has given me. The feeling of playing here is incredible. It’s a dream come true. I hope to stay with the first team, I am very happy.”

With Lionel Messi still on vacation and Ousmane Dembélé out for several months after knee surgery, there is a spot for Demir on the forward line for at least the first few weeks of the season.
If he continues to play this well, he might be in the squad for a lot longer.
