The midfielder reportedly flew to London
It’s safe to say that Ilaix Moriba has been one of the more consistent transfer rumors that have surrounded Barcelona this summer. The youngster and Barca are apparently pretty far apart in negotiations regarding a contract extension and it seems unlikely that an agreement will be reached.
It appears as if Moriba falls into the category of a player who doesn’t want to take a pay cut to stay at the club and isn’t all that interested in sitting around doing nothing either. Barca are apparently demanding €20m for the teenager and unless anyone hits that number he may be stuck.
The latest update comes from Mundo Deportivo who say Chelsea and RB Leipzig are the two teams who’re the “main options” for him should he leave the club. The report adds that Moriba was in London over the weekend, presumably to chat with the Blues about a move.
The European champions are said to have a “good relationship” with Barcelona and have been following Moriba for a little while. There’s even a suggestion they could sign Moriba and send him out on loan for a bit until they feel he’s ready for first-team action.
