The midfielder is due to fly out for a medical
Ilaix Moriba looks set to seal a late move away from Barcelona with reports claiming the Catalan giants have reached agreement with RB Leipzig regarding a move for the midfielder.
According to ESPN, the Bundesliga side have agreed a permanent deal with the youngster for a fee that could rise as high as 20 million euros ($27.5m).
The teenager is now expected to fly to Germany for a medical before putting pen to paper on a five-year deal with RB Leipzig.
Moriba’s future has been making headlines for weeks after the midfielder was unable to agree an extension to his contract which expires in 2022.
Barca have demoted the youngster to the reserves and threatened to leave him in the stands for the whole of the 2021-22 campaign if he failed to renew and did not move on.
Coach Ronald Koeman has spoken about Moriba’s situation and admitted it was “horrible” and also advised the teenager to be more focused on football than money.
RB Leipzig, Tottenham, and Chelsea had all been linked with a move for Moriba but it seems as if the Bundesliga side have won the race and the saga is finally over.
