It’s time...
The news that Ansu Fati is back in Barcelona training is just about the best possible at this early stage of the season.
With a full international break to come, and in which the youngster will hopefully continue to build back up his fitness with no ill effects, there’s every reason to believe that he will be fit and ready to go for the match against Sevilla.
Will he be the same Ansu as before? That question won’t be answered until the first time he steps back out onto the pitch proudly wearing the blaugrana once more.
We can but dream though.

Of course, the temptation will be to believe he is the answer to all of Barca’s ills, which is clearly not the case. Nor will he be ‘Lionel Messi’s replacement’ for want of a better term.
If he was under pressure before, that will have increased in his absence, but all that should be asked of him this season is that he plays his natural game to the best of his ability each week.
He’s already shown that if he’s fed the ball in the right areas, he will gobble up just about any chance or half chance.
As natural a finisher as there has been at the club for years, it’ll be bye bye Braithwaite from the starting line-up once Ansu is ready to go.
The worry, if there is one, will be how he will stand up to the more physical rigours, at least initially. After such a long period out of action, it would only be normal for him to be a little reticent to go toe-to-toe with the opposition.
In other respects he will be coming back into the side at just the right time, however.

Culers generally seem to have already accepted that this will be another transitional season and winning anything will be an absolute bonus.
Defeatist? Hardly. A dose of reality never hurt anyone.
Against that backdrop, arguably Ansu can find his feet in the team again at his own pace, ready to explode once he is fully fit.
In training on Tuesday he certainly looked lively, and was clearly delighted to be back and amongst his peers.
The light at the end of the tunnel is getting bigger, and that’s all the motivation he needs just now to get himself over the line and back into the starting line up.
For Ronald Koeman, it’ll be like having a new signing. Only one that doesn’t need to learn the ropes or integrate with new surroundings or colleagues.
Just you watch Ansu shine bright...
