João Félix would not be included in the deal
Antoine Griezmann wants to return to Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona might be happy moving him to get his massive salary off the books. That’s been the story of the transfer window, yet proposed deals have collapsed for one reason or another.
A proposed swap for Saúl Ñíguez fell through, as did rumors of a potential swap for João Félix.
Now, the latest rumor is that Barcelona may be willing to sell Griezmann straight up, without another player going the other way.
This would be a loan with a mandatory purchase clause that triggers in the next summer transfer window. The price that has been rumored is 50 million euro.
The Catalans could use the fact they have moved on a big salary off the books to bring in a new forward. Several players have been linked with a move to the Camp Nou, but so far, nothing has materialized. With the transfer deadline looming, Barcelona will have to move quickly to get any kind of deal done.
