The legend keeps on being linked with a move
Xavi Hernandez has been talking about returning to Barcelona and why he has not yet said yes to his former club despite a couple of approaches.
The club legend has previously admitted he turned down the chance to replace Ernesto Valverde and now says he also turned down a second approach.
“Luckily or unluckily, I’d said no twice to Barca, for different circumstances, family, professional, contractual reasons. It was very hard to say no because I am a cule but it was not the moment.”
“I’m open, I’m not fooling anyone. I’m preparing myself for this, but you have to respect Koeman, a club legend with another year on his contract.”
The former midfielder also spoke about recent rumors he could replace Ronald Koeman but says the Dutchman deserves respect and that he’s in no rush to come back.
“I land in Barcelona, they wait for me at the airport and as soon as I arrive people send me messages. But haven’t they told you anything? Well no, firstly because there is a coach who is Koeman, who must be respected, and then because I’m in no rush. What has to come will come,” he concluded on this matter.”

Xavi signed a two-year contract extension with Al Sadd in May and there have been conflicting rumors flying about regarding whether it includes a ‘Barcelona’ clause which would allow him to come back if the Catalans come calling.
As for Barcelona, Joan Laporta has this week confirmed Koeman will take charge for a second season but you just know the Xavi rumors will return once more if the Dutchman doesn’t deliver results and performances.
