Ansu Fati makes preliminary Spanish national team list - report

The youngster is part of a 50 man list that will be cut down heavily

Barcelona forward Ansu Fati, one of the most exciting prospects in the world, has made it into the preliminary list for the Spanish national team, according to Spanish radio.

Luis Enrique has chosen 50 players who could be in the team for this list, of which more than half will be cut before any official announcement is made. Mikel Merino of Real Sociedad and Adama Traoré of Wolverhampton Wanderers (formerly of Barcelona) are also new faces on the list.

The 50-player list was sent to clubs to let them know in advance the players that may be called up, according to the report. We will know who actually gets called up on March 20th, this for the final matches before Euro 2020 is scheduled to take place.

Fati has has been in preliminary lists before, under former Spain boss Robert Moreno. However, he has yet to be called up. The 17-year-old forward has already made his debut with Spain’s U21 team. As a 16-year-old, he skipped the U17 level entirely.
