French defender Lucas Digne suffered an injury during Barcelona’s 4-1 win over Villarreal. The left-back started ahead of Jordi Alba but had to be substituted after injuring his right leg. Barcelona did not say how long he would be out for, but it’s understood to be a relatively minor injury.
With no games until next weekend’s clash against Las Palams, Digne could end up not missing any time at all. That would be crucial time for him, since his future at the club is very much in doubt with Luis Enrique exiting.
Barcelona are understood to be in hot pursuit of Theo Hernandez, an Atletico Madrid player on loan at Deportivo Alaves who occupies the same position, left-back.
The other question is how far the apparent fracture between Luis Enrique and Alba, the habitual starter, is.
