Euro 2016: 17 June 2016; Live Open Thread

Another day of the Euro 2016 group stage starts on Friday, and it promises to be a great one again. Plenty of Barcelona stars will be on display, and it's definitely not a good idea to miss any of the games.

First up, the surprising Italians were the surprise of the first round of games, winning convincingly against the exciting Belgians. Italy are always tough and can win at any time, and from forgotten old men they could become the ultimate dark horse of the competition if they are able to secure qualification on Friday. Facing them is the one-man show of Sweden, who won their debut match with direct involvement from Zlatan Ibrahimovic, one of Euro's biggest stars. These two teams weren't favorites when the competition started, but they can have one of the matches of the tournament.

Up next, one Barça star takes the pitch. Ivan Rakitic and Croatia face the Czech Republic looking to qualify for the knockout rounds. After a 1-0 win over Arda Turan's Turkey in the opening match, the Croatians are in good position to guarantee a place in the Round of 16 against a questionable side who relies on its most experienced stars (Petr Cech and Tomas Rosicky). Luka Modric had a phenomenal debut capped off with an amazing goal, and even though he's a Real Madrid player (WHY, GOD, WHY???), he's one of the best midfielders on Earth, and a joy to watch.

To end the day, the two-time defending champs take the pitch also looking for an early qualification to the knockout rounds. Andrés Iniesta, Gerard Piqué, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are all expected to start again, and will represent the Blaugrana against Arda Turan and the desperate Turkish. After losing the first game, Turkey's talented players need to have a great game in hopes of beating La Roja and leave the group wide open. But Iniesta is in magical form after a magisterial debut, and Spain are favorites once again. Should be fun.

It's a great day of European international football starting at 3pm CET / 2pm BST (UK) / 9am ET, 6am PT (US) / 6:30pm IST (India), and you can use the comment section to follow the games with us. Have fun!
