Thursday at the Ciutat Esportiva was a bit different to other days. The first team players joined up with Barça B for a training match, which offered a valuable chance for the likes of Luis Suárez, Douglas and Ter Stegen to get some match practice. Luis Enrique, fresh back from the UEFA Elite Clubs Coaching Forum in Nyon, Switzerland, was able to observe the proceedings.

Luis Enrique Martínez had nine first team players available for this morning’s training session (Ter Stegen, Martín Montoya, Gerard Piqué, Xavi Hernández, Luis Suárez, Javier Mascherano, Douglas Pereira, Adriano Correia and Dani Alves) while Andrés Iniesta, Leo Messi and Thomas Vermaelen were also present but worked on their specific programmes. Goalkeeper Jordi Masip is still doing physiotherapy after fracturing a finger.
