Pelé: "Messi can still win a World Cup"

The King has spoken.

Lionel Messi's biggest shot at winning the World Cup seemed to be the one in Brazil, that he lost by one goal to Germany two months ago. They say Argentina team will be too old in 2018. Messi himself will be 31. Many believe that he's not going to have as big of a chance as he had this year.

The King of Football doesn't agree with those. Pelé, one of the greatest players of all time, has spoken at a press conference in Brazil. And he thinks Messi still has a shot at winning the biggest prize in world football.

"Of course he can still win. He's a balanced person, he takes care of himself, he is always in great physical condition. He can play and win the next Cup, no doubt about it. Also, losing to Germany doesn't diminish him. He is a great player, for sure, he can still do great things in Russia.

He wasn't at his best in Brazil, but it doesn't mean that he's a bad player. Many great Brazilian and Argentine players had a chance to win the World Cup and they couldn't do it. If the same happens to Messi, it doesn't change how great of a player he is. You can't take away anything from him.
