FC Barcelona News: 11 September 2014; El Clasico Date Set, CAS Confirm Luis Suarez Suspension End Date

Real Madrid will host Barça on October 25 at 6.00 PM CET at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first of the two clásicos of the 2014/15 Liga season. Barça will be playing the game four days after facing Ajax in the Champions League and in between two home Liga fixtures against Eibar and Celta.

Luis Suárez can play in the clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu on October 25 at 6.00 PM CET. The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has confirmed to FC Barcelona that the Uruguayan’s suspension will end at midnight on Friday 24 October, thus clearing him to appear in first official fixture for his new club, against none other than Real Madrid, should Luis Enrique opt to play him.


FC Barcelona to wear "senyera" kit against Bilbao | FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona’s first team have been given permission by the LFP to wear their "senyera" kit against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday afternoon at the Camp Nou. The Club’s Board of Directors had requested the change in strip, which features a design based on the Catalan flag, as part of the commemorations to mark the three hundredth anniversary of the September 11 siege of Barcelona in 1714.

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has undergone surgery on a knee problem. The Germany international is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, but has also now received treatment on his left knee. Khedira missed most of last season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee, before suffering a strain in the other at the World Cup earlier this year.


San Mames passes UEFA test | Football Espana

Athletic Bilbao’s new San Mames ground has received a favourable report from UEFA as one of the nominees to host Euro 2020. The international body considers the stadium meets the basic requirements and the only thing remaining is the installation of VIP boxes, which should be completed by March 2015.
