Dani Alves is living his last season as an active Barcelona legend. His contract is up next summer, and he needs some place to go. He's got some options, now.
According to a report from Diario Sport, Liverpool and Manchester United are set to offer the 31-year-old a pre-contract at the January transfer window. Since Alves is expected to play the whole season, the Premier League powerhouses want to get his commitment six months before his contract ends. Dani can join anyone for free after July 1st, and that attracts both teams.
There's nothing that Barcelona can do about it. They can't ask for money, since Alves is leaving anyway. Because of that, they can't negotiate, and they'll have to watch their legend walk away for nothing. Barça tried to sell Dani before this season, but they didn't get any good offer, so they decided to keep him for his last year.
But he's leaving, that's for sure. And the Premier League is the favorite to land him next season.
