FC Barcelona Injury Report: Marc-André Ter Stegen Given Green Light, Jordí Masip Out for 4 Weeks

Good and bad news in the GK department

There's your injury report for today, with good and bad news for Barcelona in the goalkeeping department.

Marc-André Ter Stegen, Barça's first choice for GK, was finally given the green light by the team's doctors, and he is able to train normally with the team from now on. Stegen had a back problem that gave him trouble for the last few weeks, and that provided Claudio Bravo the opportunity to be Barça's number one goalie. So far, he has been good, but the competition starts now that the 22-year-old German is finally fit.

Now, the bad news: Jordí Masip, the third Barça goalie, has fractured his little finger in the right hand, which will sideline him for at least four weeks. It's not really serious, but with the return of Stegen, the doctors thought it was better to have him fully recover from the injury, since Barça has its two main goalies fit to play.

In other news, Thomas Vermaelen is still only doing a portion of team practices with his teammates. For the rest of the training, he still does specific exercises to rehab the thigh contusion that he carries since the World Cup. He is expected to be available for Barça's next Liga match, against Athletic Bilbao at Camp Nou, on September 13.
