Barcelona have confirmed that Javier Mascherano will join Chinese Super League side Hebei Fortune on Friday.
The club confirmed yesterday that Mascherano was certain to leave and a move to China had long been mooted.
Barcelona have not revealed the transfer fee involved, although some reports have claimed they will receive €7 million for the 33-year-old.
“FC Barcelona and Hebei China Fortune FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Javier Mascherano, who will join the Chinese club from 26 January.”

The club are holding a farewell ceremony for the defender on Wednesday as they bid a fond goodbye to a player who has served the club so well for seven and a half seasons.
Mascherano will get the chance to say goodbye to supporters on Thursday as Barcelona take on Espanyol in the Copa del Rey before beginning his new adventure in China.
