FC Barcelona News: 24 September 2016: Neymar Fraud Case Reopened, Schwarzenegger Visits Training

FC Barcelona are in Gijón to take on Sporting for Week 6 of La Liga on Saturday (4.15pm CET) looking to make it three away wins from three this campaign, without Leo Messi due to injury. Sporting currently hold a perfect record at home, so it certainly is not a straight forward affair at El Molinón, which sees Luis Enrique face his old club and former blaugrana teammate Abelardo on the opposing bench.
Trips to Gijón are always a special occasion for Luis Enrique. Although he is manager of FC Barcelona, a club that will always have a very big place in heart, it has never been a secret that the club that lies closest to the centre of that heart is his beloved Sporting Gijón.
Luis Enrique will be without the injured Samuel Umtiti, the Frenchman has a knee problem, and Leo Messi who injured his groin in the 1-1 draw in midweek against Diego Simeone’s team. Aleix Vidal and Jordi Masip will also not make the trip north with the full squad as follows: Ter Stegen, Cillessen, Piqué, Rakitic, Sergio, Denis, Arda, Iniesta, Suárez, Neymar Jr, Rafinha, Mascherano, Paco Alcácer, Jordi Alba, Digne, Sergi Roberto, André Gomes and Mathieu.
Arnold Schwarzenegger paid a visit to the FC Barcelona first team on Friday, just before training took place at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. Schwarzenegger spent some time with Neymar and alongside two of the captains Busquets and Mascherano ahead of the team’s workout. Jordi Alba, Denis Suárez, Rafinha and Paco Alcácer also got to meet the famous actor. Schwarzenegger received a first team jersey with his name on the back in order to remember his visit to the club’s facilities.
Barcelona superstar Neymar's troubles with the Spanish authorities continued when a fraud case against the player and his father was reopened on Friday following a successful appeal by Spanish prosecutors, a court filing showed.
FC Barcelona spokesman Josep Vives has informed that the Argentine Football Association has apologised to the club for the national team manager’s comments made on Leo Messi’s injury. "The AFA has contacted Barça to express its apology for the comments made by the manager in relation to the injury of Leo Messi," said Vives.
FC Barcelona and Johan Cruyff Institute have signed a collaboration agreement that includes, among other joint initiatives, the creation and launch of a Master in Football Business within the FCB Universitas platform. The presentation event was attended by Josep Maria Bartomeu, president of FC Barcelona, Jordi Cruyff, member of the board of the Johan Cruyff Institute and Jordi Monés, director of FC Barcelona and FCB Universitas commissioner.
