Another landslide win? Certainly that's what the bookies are suggesting today as Barcelona prepare to welcome Real Sociedad to the Camp Nou. After utterly destroying both Real Madrid and AS Roma in the past week, it's only logical to assume that a similar fate would await an under-performing Sociedad. However, with the appointment of a new coach in the form of former Barça B manager, Eusebio Sacristan, La Real look as though they might be ready to turn a corner.
In his first match in charge, Sociedad comfortably defeated Sevilla at the Anoeta, and Imanol Agirretxe continued his fine start to the season with the second goal in that victory. It brought his tally up to nine goals on the season, a total that is only bettered by Luis Suarez and Neymar. The Basque forward is essentially playing like Aritz Aduriz, and we all know how much trouble he has caused us in the past.
Equally, Sociedad have always been something of a 'bogey' team for the Blaugrana; last year's defeat at the Anoeta, and a humbling loss at the same venue a year prior to that. Then again, our troubles only become apparent in the Basque Country -- Barça have won their last 18 home matches against Sociedad, in a streak that stretches all the way back to 1995. In to other words, Barcelona have never drawn or lost to Sociedad at the Camp Nou in my lifetime.
