FC Barcelona are gearing up for an intense week which features two matches at the Camp Nou. The first challenge comes in the form of AS Roma in Matchday 5 of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday where the Catalans are looking to mathematically book their place in the next round (8.45pm CET). Then, the focus turns to La Liga where Barça will host Real Sociedad at Camp Nou on Saturday (4.00pm CET).

Barcelona has confirmed Javier Mascherano did not suffer damage to his thigh muscle during Saturday's Clasico win. The Argentina international collided with James Rodriguez in the first half of Barca's 4-0 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu and had to be replaced by Jeremy Mathieu after 27 minutes.

FC Barcelona were simply outstanding in the first Clásico of the season, winning 4-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu with four fine goals from Neymar, Iniesta and Suárez (two from the latter). The two teams were worlds apart. Barcelona inflicted a humiliating 4-0 defeat upon its fiercest rival Real Madrid on Saturday evening. The Catalans did it at the home of their eternal enemies and for the most part, they did it without Lionel Messi.

Barça B pick up a point with a 2–2 draw at CE Sabadell | FC Barcelona
Despite falling behind twice on the scoreboard, Barça B battled back both times and added an enormous point in Sunday's visit the Nova Creu Alta, leaving Sabadell with a 2–2 draw. Superb defence, a stellar performance by goalkeeper Adrià Ortolá and a dash of good luck were some of the keys to the game.

Cuneyt Cakir to referee Barcelona v Roma
Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir has been appointed to officiate Barcelona v Roma on Tuesday evening. It will be the third time the Giallorossi have been involved in a game refereed by Cakir. Both of the previous matches came in the 2014-15 season and ended in defeats for Roma, away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stages and then at home against Fiorentina in the Europe League round-of-16 second leg.
