Barcelona vs Roma, 2015/16 UEFA Champions League: Final Score 6-1 as Barça eviscerate visitors

Fresh off their incredible 0-4 victory at the Santiago Bernabeu, FC Barcelona picked up where they left off to destroy AS Roma at the Camp Nou on Tuesday, winning 6-1 to secure top spot in their group and book their place in the next round. Last season's treble winners welcomed Lionel Messi back into the line-up, but they hardly welcomed their visotrs from Serie A, showing no mercy to run out convincing winners, courtesy of goals from Luis Suarez (2), Lionel Messi (2), Gerard Pique and Adriano Correia.

FIRST HALF

El Clasico continued; that's how Luis Enrique probably pitched this game to his players and judging from our performance, we followed through with that sentiment. Barcelona dominated the first-half in terms of possession (obviously), but they also kept Roma pinned into their own half with some fantastic pressing and made that pressure count with two quickfire goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

Do yourself a favour and watch that Messi goal, because my goodness, that might just be the team move of the century.

The intensity dropped a little bit after that as Barca realised they probably had the three points wrapped uo, inviting Roma to push forward, albeit without much to show for their efforts. In fact, all they did was enrage the Blaugrana who put things well beyond their reach before half-time courtesy of a third goal, his second of the night, from Luis Suarez.

SECOND HALF

Sergi Samper was introduced at the break (yay!) and Barcelona continued to play like a team of superhuman monsters (double yay!). Lionel Messi added his second, and invited some others to get in on the act as well. That led to Gerard Pique grabbing a goal (even if it was a few days late for his own liking) and Adriano also reminded us of his continued existence and presence on the squad with Barca's sixth.

Both sides missed a penalty (Neymar, and Dzeko respectively) before Edin Dzeko atoned himself by grabbing a late consolation, but by then the damage had been done and the gauntlet had been well and truly thrown down to the rest of the world by Luis Enrique's side: when you play with fire, y'all gonna get burned.

We've just played two great teams, both easily in the top 15 in Europe -- and we've scored ten goals. TEN. This team is just plain unfair.
