A few things to keep in mind while watching Barça vs Córdoba tomorrow
With Barcelona set to take on Córdoba in the last match of 2014, here's a few key things to keep in mind when you watch the game tomorrow:
End The Year on A High Note
2014 is definitely not going to be remembered as an iconic year for the Blaugrana. Barça had huge problems, on and off the pitch, with painful losses, forgetable moments and huge disappointments. The team threw La Liga away, losing the title at home against Atlético Madrid, the same team that defeated Barça in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal. All that led to Tata Martino being fired. In his place, came Luis Enrique, and his team had an amazing start to the season, despite not playing as well as we have been accustomed to. Then, a pair of painful losses in big games to Real Madrid and PSG gave the club a reality check.
Enrique has since tried to change his team's tactics in order to play better and win the biggies. He achieved it in principle, with a statement triumph against PSG. Barça still aren't playing great, but they're on the right track. Beating Córdoba comfortably on Saturday might give the fans reasons to expect a better 2015.
Montoya Again? For the Last Time?
Martín Montoya is probably on his way out of Barça, and maybe Saturday could mark his last appearance in a Blaugrana kit, since he's expected to be sold once the winter transfer window opens in two weeks. Dani Alves is injured and will not play against Córdoba, and Douglas Pereira has simply not impressed. Montoya might get another shot at the right-back position. If it is indeed his last day on the pitch, it would be a sad one.
Is Neymar Playing?
The Brazilian has been cleared to resume regular action on Friday, and he took part in the team's training session without any issues. Now it is up to Luis Enrique to decide whether or not Ney will play. If he does, he can continue his sensational form on the season.
