More bad news for the midfielder
Spain Under-21 boss Luis de la Fuente took time out to explain why Riqui Puig has been left out of his latest squad on Friday.
The midfielder has not been included on the list for games against the Faroe Islands and Israel over the upcoming international break.

Carles Alena also misses out in what’s a blow for the duo who are also struggling for game time at the Camp Nou.
Here’s what De la Fuente’s had to say about it all:
“I have not spoken with him. I think he has to be calm, I have already spoken with him on other occasions and he knows what I think. We have a high esteem and appreciation for him, now he has to work even harder. He is convinced that he wants to succeed at Barça.”
Pedri does make the cut after a lively start to the season with Barca, and the 17-year-old now seems to be ahead of Alena and Puig in the pecking order for club and country. The Under-21 boss also offered his thoughts on Barca’s summer signing.
“For us he is very important. I’m sure that if he continues to progress, he will have his chance at the senior level, even at such a young age. He is a player who has an exceptional projection and who is taking advantage of his opportunities. Off the field he is also showing important maturity despite his youth.”

Pedri will be hoping he can follow in Ansu Fati’s footsteps and make the step up to the senior squad soon. Fati is in Luis Enrique’s latest squad along with Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto.
